We agree with the recommendation from the Departments of Health that we should routinely place topical fluoride on the biting surface of children's teeth every 6 months to help strengthen the enamel and prevent decay.
Fluoride in the water supply reduces the incidence of decay by 50% and applying topical fluoride once every 6 months helps reinforce this effect.
